Several helpful actions
At it's heart Rekordboxer allows you to create actions. These actions can do all kinds of tasks to your cuepoints and metadata on a track. In this post let me show you a few examples.
All of the actions shown here can be downloaded and directly imported in your own Rekordboxer Settings
Converting Hotcues to Memory Cues
As you know Rekordbox has a strange flaw. While the feature to convert hot ques to memory cues does well exist, the opposite does not. This is especially frustrating for controller DJs that want to start playing in clubs and are faced with older hardware. Here is is cool to be able to convert your hot cues to memory cues
Coloring your Hotcues
Using Colors for hotcues can be very helpful. If inside Rekordbox, on modern CDJs or on Controllers with RGB Pads, your track cues will make much more sense with some color. If you have never used color before this action will allow you to assign different colors to your cues based on their position.
Convert Memcues to Hotcues
Although this technically is a built in function of Rekordbox there are still advantages to doing this with Rekordboxer
- Preserving cue label
- Remapping Cues with different indexes
- Choosing to limit conversion to certain cues
Here is a base action that will convert all of your first 8 memcues into the hotcue slots A-H (only if they dont exist)
Bonus: Delete All Cues on a track
This one is a dangerous one, but nonetheless can be very useful. Using this action will delete all cues for a specified track. You can use this to later resetup yur cues using other actions, or modify it so only a specific cue stays.
Summary: There is a lot to automate
These few actions can give you some inspiration on how to best get started with RekordBoxer. There is much more possible and more features will be added in the future to improve the action engine and RekordBoxers features. So stay tuned and follow our newsletter!
